Malennie was an active member of the Delta Zeta Sorority when it came to community service and philanthropic events. She was on the philanthropy committee the entire term I served on the executive board. This included leading events, fundraising, planning, volunteering and participating in community service. She volunteered her time raising money for The Starkey Hearing Foundation, Gallaudet University and many other charities. She served time volunteering at the local women’s shelter and backpack programs that gave to local schools in the area. Malennie also hit a goal of 50 community service hours each semester she served as an active member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.
