  In 2008, American’s Against the Escalation in Iraq morphed into a media tracking and rapid-response campaign focused on promoting progressive values in the presidential debate. Duties included establishing a 527 group, managing all finances, fundraising, compliance, human resources and daily operations. At conclusion of campaign, parts of the organization merged with the Center for American Progress and Media Matters.

Managed politically challenging relationships and situations to work toward a common goal that supported the get-out-the-vote program.

  Directed all operation for start-up multi-million-dollar coalition of MoveOn.org, Center for American Progress Action Fund, Americans United for Change, and others that advocated for a safe and responsible end to the war in Iraq. Primary responsibilities included: accounting management, compliance, human resources, legal liaison, and field management. Spearheaded the planning and implementation of the organizations high profile “Iraq Summer” program – a 15-state field and media campaign targeting 40 elected officials to “take a stand” and end the war in Iraq, which contributed to several early retirements from Congress.

  Co-founded Political Action Committee (PAC) and a 501(c)(4) Action Fund, to generate national and local dialogue about troops and veteran’s issues and to support Iraq and Afghanistan veterans running for public office. Managed all aspects of the organization’s day-to-day operations, including fundraising, staff and consultant management, messaging, political outreach, veteran outreach and strategic planning to influence the 2006 elections. With a donor table, spearheaded a fundraising campaign to air super bowl commercials to stop the troop escalation in Iraq. As a start-up, raised over $1.2 million for the PAC and over $1.8 million for the 501(c)(4) Action Fund in the first electoral cycle. Helped elect four Iraq veterans to Congress and contributed to the defeat of nine members of Congress.
