  Worked at SIS for 6 weeks over the summer putting the TESOL course I did with them last year into practice.   Responsible for training sales, using the resources of the world-renowned Met Office College. We provide training for meteorological service providers such as National Meteorological Services across the globe, as well as to users of these services such as private sector companies.

  Led the Rainfall Collaboration Project, a joint activity with the Environment Agency to improve rainfall forecasting and flood warnings. Also led the 'proof of concept' stage of our Weather & Health project, funded by HM Treasury, to determine if links between weather and certain health conditions could be turned into a service useful for the NHS and the public.During this period I also acted as a resource manager, assisting in the smooth transition of our team and its services from Bracknell to our new HQ at Exeter in 2003.   Acted as analyst during the Met Office's first pay & grading review. Subsequently developed the organisation's pay budgetting model, using my skills in MS-Excel. This model remained in use for several years.

  Experienced in forecasting for civil aviation; military aviation; the public. While at Gutersloh in Germany I delivered weather refresher training to the Harrier squadrons in readiness for the trappers. At Bristol I did regular radio broadcasts and also learnt more about the impact of the weather on the public and on businesses.
