Senior Cost Model Engineer
-
Dec 2010 - Nov 2015
Producing aircraft engine cost models to determine the value of engines based upon the standard of parts within those engines. This is vital in ensuring engines are purchased at the right price to maximise profits from selling the component parts. Through this work i have a good understanding of technical publications such as IPC’s, AD’s, and SB’s as well as an appreciation of the commercial desirability of material and the history of parts and engines.Cost Models are produced by determining the desirability, repair-ability and net sales price of the component parts through analysis of sales history and engine maintenance activity. EFPAC Program Manager
-
Jul 1999 - Dec 2010
I was technically responsible for the EFPAC software system developed by TES, in partnership with the programmers Imagitech. EFPAC provides full engine management functionality for users (engine technical tracking, removal planning and workshop visit definition). Working closely with the programmers I took the embryonic program to full operational status and was then responsible for the on-going development and support of the software. By identifying opportunities and interpreting requirements, writing specification documents, and testing the prototype software I ensured that development requirements were fully understood and delivered. In order to keep the software up to date with the rapidly changing demands of engine management I needed to fully comprehend the technical requirements of a wide range of engine types from the major manufacturers and to effectively communicate these with the programmers. I also provided training and support to users and customers as well as being a critical part of the sales, installation, and data loading process.Following 7 years of full time employment with the company I operated as a part time consultant to the TES Aviation Group from 2006 to 2010. In this period I continued to support the EFPAC operation within TES both before and after the sale of EFPAC Ltd to Aerdata. Show less
