Francis Sabbe
Sammy Makovski was, for me, the ideal senior to work for. As he gave the opportunities for his staff to be creative and independant. He himself was always open to tackle any new challenges. As a commercial director he managed to increase our yearly turnover by an average 25 to 30%, during 6 years, which, considering our sector and the markets we worked in was an astonishing achievement. Our main activity was the export and technical marketing of Veterinary Pharmaceuticals, as exclusive agents for numerous international companies such as: MSD-AGVET (later merged with Rhone Poulenc, to become world leader under the trade name of MERIAL SAS); HIPRA Veterinary Pharmaceuticals from Spain; NOVARTIS Veterinary and Public Health Divisions from Switzerland; ROCHE Feed additives from Switzerland, KELA Veterinary Pharmaceuticals from Belgium... Our main export businesses were situated in Algeria and other countries of the Maghreb, such as Morocco and Mauritania, Eastern Africa (Tanzania and Kenya) and the Middle East (Jordan, Iraq..)
