      I joined PJCarew Consulting in 2009 as a full time academic intern. In 2010 I began working for PJC as a permanent employee with my role being that of Intermediate Level Green Building Design Consultant and Internal design coordinator. Thereafter I moved to part time work in order to pursue a Master’s degree from 2012. My responsibilities over those years included, but were not limited to:Design coordination: Working directly with the principal to outline passive architecture design strategies and ways in which these design strategies could be analysed and/or tested.Management – 2010 – 2011: Formally in charge of managing production work within the office i.e. coordinating design input, simulation and documentation for both senior and junior staff. Also providing formal training for interns and junior staff.PLED Technical support – From 2009: In order to provide support to design strategies identified, I was part of and for a while coordinated the technical support team, which involved use of advance energy & daylight simulation programmes i.e. EnergyPlus, Radiance & DaySIMGreenStarSA Technical Support – From 2010: This involved both coordinating & providing technical support for credits that required advanced simulations and/or calculations. i.e. Creation of an in-house Mass Public Transport Calculator Tool as well as coordinating Daylight/Glare related credits with the Energy & Thermal Comfort related credits Internal Project Coordination - 2014: As Project Coordinator for I was the main interface between PJC & a few external project teams dealing with: PJC related project administration; Setting of sustainable design goals; Assisting in incorporating design ideas into the architecture & urban design; Drafting of design guidelines for future buildings; Management of inhouse staff working on the project; Support Energy, Daylight/Solar Control Design Modelling; Facilitating multiple SANS10-400XA reports to meet minimum SA Sustainability standards.
