  As CEO of the Botswana Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership (BHP), I oversee the research and training activities conducted at the BHP, including numerous US Government grants and research projects. I oversee and provide clinical mentorship for all CTU trials, I am the Site PI and directly oversee the coordination of HPTN activities at BHP, I advise on the selection for the Botswana clinical research sites and participate in quality management systems, including monitoring and evaluation of studies conducted at the BHP. I facilitate timely institutional review board submissions and approvals for research protocols for both the IRBs at Harvard University and the Botswana Ministry of Health. I supervise leaders of each participating BHP department to ensure study objectives in recruitment and retention are met, and that laboratory and data management, and QC and QA procedures are in place. I maintain contact with relevant department leaders at the Ministry of Health, the University of Botswana, and the Botswana IRB (HRDC) to mobilize support for BHP studies. Show less
