Tourism is one of the world’s largest industries and one of the fastest growing economic sectors over the last six decades. Having it in mind, the research aimed at examining a role of tourism industry in economic growth of developing countries; particularly define cointegrated relationship between GDP, exchange rate and tourism revenue. Application of granger causality test in order to analyze tourism impact on GDP growth, and employment of time series estimation techniques. At the same time, development of tourism activities generate negative impacts (externalities) on environmental resources. Among others, one of the most significant impacts is the effect of tourism activities on water resources.
