Aug 2018 - Present
As an intern at D H Conley High School, I am responsible for planning lessons that meet North Carolina state standards, assessing student performance, and engaging in classroom management strategies that increase time on task. With a data driven approach to learning, I am able to further engage my students with content that is both relevant to their individual circumstances and authentic to the institutions they will interact with, post graduation. Capitalizing on trends that are infiltrating the classroom, such as technology use, allows me to appeal to my students when those trends are paired with content that communicate the state standards they will be tested on at the end of the term.

I was responsible for the communication between International Headquarters, campus officials, advisors, alumni, and local partners; as well as, the identification of a direction in which Nu Gamma could pursue establishing an individual brand. I enforced the policies set forth in governing documents, created the chapter calendar for the term, and reviewed documents related to changes in financial obligations and risk management strategies for chapter events.

Athletic Academic Support Staff
-
Oct 2016 - Dec 2017
As a member of ECU's Athletic Academic Support staff, I tutored and mentored athletes both individually and in group settings. This role required planning before the session that was specific to the content the student was learning, data tracking on student performance both in the class and tutoring sessions, and communication with advisors and staff who were also assigned to the athlete. Understanding the mechanics of the sport, in which the athlete played, and how those connected to the content of the course they struggled in, was what increased the success of athletes who I tutored. Attached you will find a specific example of how I connected plate barriers to offensive and defensive plays for an athlete in a Geology course.
