Macie Beltran
I have known Makenna for about 10 years now. We studied together from the time we were in junior high to our higher education at the California State University, Chico. We have worked together in the same company, participated in the same clubs, and studied together for many classes. Makenna is a hard-working, friendly, organized, knowledgeable, and a great leader to her peers. She has done outstanding work in many of her courses and has maintained Dean's List while spending her time studying Business Marketing and Sales at Chico State. She currently is the Vice President of the AMA Club at Chico State and has led her peers to become better educated and experienced marketing students. Makenna's work ethic is very developed for her young age and she will provide any team with the creative, flexible, and outgoing personality a team needs. I am pleased to have worked with an outstanding business leader like Makenna!

I led a group of 20 students in a national case competition for the Wall St. Journal where we placed in the top 25%. In 2017, I competed in a Case Competition for Mary Kay Cosmetics where our team placed in the top 15%. I was also one of ten members to be chosen to represent our club in New Orleans for the National Collegiate Conference. I thank the American Marketing Association, Chico Chapter, for the countless networking opportunities I have gotten with company recruiters. Sales Management Intern

Jun 2018 - Aug 2018
My internship with PepsiCo was a very hands-on, project based internship where I learned many new skills for my future. I created processes and upheld accountability to raise new item distribution 9% in my zone. I also hosted an educational LGBTQ+ event in our office to raise awareness for the LGBTQ+ community. One of my favorite parts of the internship was being able to participate in their region meetings in Palm Springs where I was able to present my project to the RVP, John Frost, and other executives. As an intern at JoyRun I was committed to informing my peers on the competitive advantage of this delivery app over others of its kind. I was able to help my team become the fastest growing campus in the JoyRun Company. As a team we were able to increase users from 0 to over 3,000 in just two months. I created partnerships with local restaurants while helping them market their brand to Chico State students through promotions and food delivery services. At Tranquility Salon and Spa I was trusted to balance cash drawers using accounting skills. I also greeted clients making them feel welcomed. I also answered phones and booked appointments for clients. I had to use time management skills to best place a client into the schedules of over fifteen hairdressers and estheticians. Executing product sales was also a daily task of mine. At Tranquility Salon and Spa I was trusted to balance cash drawers using accounting skills. I also greeted clients making them feel welcomed. On a daily basis I was in charge of balancing school, homework, and sport practice schedules for two children. I picked them up from school, made them dinner, and helped them with homework five days a week. The young man had baseball practice and the young lady had gymnastics and intramural sports at school. Time management was highly utilized during this job. I also had to resolve conflict calmly and effectively which can be difficult with young children. While working at this restaurant I was trusted with handling cash and credit card transactions. Given that this restaurant was a take-out heavy restaurant, I was usually leading a team of employees while we packed and distributed take-out orders. Making sure each order was executed perfectly could be difficult when their are fifty plus orders at a time, but my process of marking receipts made it easier for other to follow along.
