    • Packman UK Event Manager
      • Jan 2013 - Jul 2014

I started as a drink hawker; I carried a 15kg backpack selling beer, slush puppy style cocktails and bottles to crowds at music concerts and sports events. I improved my sale skills pitching drink prices, product quality and promotions to improve sales figures exceeding targets. I often got top seller of shifts and seller of the month. This was a great achievement in an environment of dealing with difficult crowds at the Darts World Championships and being the only female team member. After exceeding my sales targets at the Red Bull Soap Box Race 2013 at Alexandra Palace I was promoted to Event Manager. My role involved recruiting staff via internet, arranging introduction and training days involving sourcing the venue, contacting potential staff and processing details to the staff database which I created. I also became the staff manager for each event arranging staff, transport (often transporting staff myself) and being the point of contact for issues. Pre-event including arranging equipment in the van such as backpacks, uniform, signage, gas bottles, cooling equipment, paperwork and cash tills. Myself and a small supervisor team set up a few hours prior to event for the cooling system. Then meeting staff branding them in uniform and briefing them on the event, including a site walk with safety procedures as each venue has different policies. My main role during the event was to take cash from sellers for each mini keg sold, this then involved cashing up the till and equating a payback percentage to the venue. I walked the venue motivating hawkers on up selling tips; talked to the crowds to spread to idea of Packman's service and ensured hawkers were doing their job by covering all areas of sale to improve sales figures. Event breakdown of equipment myself and supervisors pack up the van, ensure all staff leave the venue, finalise all event paper work with staff sign in sheets, sellers log and cash up sheets; before feeding this back to the CEO.
