In the Student Garden, I coordinated biweekly volunteer days, researched and planned crop rotations according to growing cycles, created marketing materials for the free pick-your-own produce available at the garden, worked with faculty to bring classes into the space and increase community engagement, led multiple free produce giveaways and harvest events to service the community, as well as pioneered a connection between the UVA Food Pantry and Student Garden by providing weekly deliveries of fresh, organic, student-grown produce. At Morven Kitchen Garden, I ensured that all produce and farm practices were aligned with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification, harvested, washed, and delivered produce by hand, kept record of all harvesting procedure and produce sales, as well as pioneered a connection with several food pantries in Charlottesville and supported these institutions with donations. I also worked at tabling events, giveaways, and coordinated the UVA Charlottesville Market showcase each semester to support local food producers.
