  In my job as Transportation analyst I am assisting the EMEA Customs & Transportation Manager in numerous tasks. Among these tasks are the evaluation of tariffs and SLA’s of different carriers. Based on the outcome of these kinds of analyses I advise which carrier can be used best per transport lane. I am the contact person for our customs department in order to advise in questions regarding transport. Other main tasks are creating standard and customized freight costs reports and analysis. The outcome of these analyses is to clarify costs, indentify irregularities and look for cost-savings. The identification of irregularities and savings often lead to new processes and/or process revisions which I participate in. Projects: Cost forecasting: Working on a forecast module to predict the costs of transportation per operating unit for the current month. The accuracy level which is reached on this moment is 96%. Re-defining postal code zoning In order to optimize delivery performance (on time shipping) I am busy with re-defining the postal code zoning for South and Eastern Europe. Based on carrier transit times and customer location a new zoning structure is set up in our shipping program.
