  'The significance, importance and possibilities of participatory art in a multi-cultural and multi-social urban environment' By starting with data analysing the specific social context, appropriate art pieces can be created, responding to the exact needs present while staying close to his (the artists’) artistic language at the same time. This is where art practice in heterogenous neighbourhoods in Antwerpen – Merksem Dok, Antwerpen Noord – intertwines with theory.   Mahmoud Saleh Mohammadi's artistic practice organically follows the dynamics of his own life. Having lived in three different cultural concepts in Iran, Italy and Belgium, his paintings, performances, installations and participatory artworks are influenced by the different inputs received over the years. That results in contemporary and conceptual artworks, minimalistic, abstract, and iconographically strong.
