    • Head Of Department
      • Sep 2017 - Jun 2018

I joined Dasman Bilingual School, an inclusion school, to lead the science team through many challenges. I started by creating an efficient, healthy, and positive work environment between the team members and creating proper communication norms with the principal's office. The team was distributed between science teachers, learning support unit teachers (LSU's), resource inclusion teachers (R.I.'s), and one laboratory technician. Part of my role was to liaise between these services to benefit students. The school was in the curriculum revision cycle when I joined them, so I took charge of reviewing the science curriculum as a member of the curriculum revision committee, which led to adopting Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). In addition, I joined the council of international schools (CIS) accreditation committees. This year, I introduced Google Drive apps, including Google classroom as a student learning management system (LMS) and project-based learning (PBL), to the school community. I started the science fair routine in Middle school. Show less

As the professional development coordinator, my role was to establish, build, and develop the professional development committee based on the Council of International Schools (CIS) recommendations. I created the routines of the committee and launched its activities. The quarterly professional development day was a good idea to encourage staff to share their knowledge. I invited learning coaches and leadership trainers from Kuwait to share the activities during these days. In addition, I convinced the school board to fund 15 master's degrees among the staff partially. We drove the school to be a professional learning community as a team. It is worth mentioning that parents supported the program by funding activities and facilitating services through their organizations. Show less
