I currently direct prosecution for a patent portfolio in 5G-related technologies comprising over 380 currently pending patent application families (amounting to just under 1,000 pending patent applications in the U.S. and across the world). Previously responsible for portfolios in sensors (including machine learning (ML) methods and ML-based computer vision sensors), position location, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) devices and MEMS-based displays, photovoltaics, optics, and light-emitting diode (LED) lighting systems. My responsibilities include overseeing outside counsel as well as prosecuting cases in-house, determining which inventions to pursue as patent applications, formulating intellectual property (IP) strategy and reviewing pending and allowed patent claims with technical teams in view of IP strategy, generating and reviewing claim charts mapping claims to standards specifications, supporting licensing negotiation and litigation efforts, and advising engineering and technical teams on patent and IP matters.
