Mahmud Mazarji: As Mahmoud's colleague at Ab-Pak Engineering Consulting (Reymon Group, Asaluyeh), I have cultivated an admiration for his management –including self-management skills and for his strong drive towards achievement. I have not met anyone who keeps as long and as detailed of to-do lists as Mahmoud does. He uses these lists on a daily basis to keep track of his progress and to keep himself focused on the most critical steps in constantly revise his plans in order to be congruent with reality. I think this is indeed a great trait of Mahmoud, and it allows him to set personally meaningful goals and to work towards them at an accelerated pace. Mahmoud is also a very strong leader I believe. He keeps very careful notes and has exceptional attention to detail which is very important when one is leading a team to achieve a goal. As his main goal, I firmly believe that Mahmoud will become a great environmentalist, which makes me proud of knowing and working with him.

I am a master's degree student in Mineral Processing Engineering in Shahrood University of Technology. I have had the pleasure of knowing Mahmoud Mazarji for three years, as both, a close friend and colleague, working together at Institute for Color Science and Technology (ICST). Mahmoud is one of the most disciplined and punctual person I've ever known. His ability to work efficiently under stressful conditions and nerve-wracking deadlines speaks volumes about his hard work, determination, and composed demeanor. He did an excellent research work, and I found him a very hard worker with a great sense of responsibility and easy to learn. He is a good team player, an outstanding extemporaneous speaker, a great debater, and very good in data analysis and open to new ideas. I would also like to add that, Mahmoud is a compassionate human being with praiseworthy perseverance and ambition. Mahmoud has a wonderful rapport with people of all ages. He was researcher in Department of Environmental Research at ICST. His ability to connect with his students and his talent at teaching simple concepts, as well as more advanced topics, are both truly superior. He has excellent written and verbal communication skills, is extremely organized, reliable and computer literate. He is an intelligent, capable, and personable young man. He is always quick on his feet, with sensible reactions in all the circumstances I've seen him in. I feel confident in saying that he is capable of handling any situation with thoughtfulness and maturity. He is also deeply interested in supporting other team members.

The present focus of his research is on nanomaterials (metal-organic frameworks) for soil remediation. In particular, adsorption and advanced oxidation processes are being studied for remediating PAHs and heavy metals-polluted soils. PI: Prof. Tatiana Minkina Running two research projects: 1. Dynamic behaviour of organic and inorganic pollutants in a soil profile assessed by column leaching and sequential extraction 2.
