Xiao Ma (Selkie, as we knew him) was a critical member of our team at HowStuffWorks International. Hired as Sr. Editor, Xiao Ma took on increasing levels of responsibility and leadership, driving most of the editorial efforts for BoWenWang.com, including both translation and original content. Responsive, pro-active, and with a keen eye on detail, Xiao Ma was someone I could count on to solve problems and get things done with limited guidance or direction - a rarity in that market. He was passionate about ensuring our users had a high-quality experience on-site, supported by a combination of outstanding content, presentation layer design, and information architecture. When he left to pursue an advanced education in Canada I was definitely sorry to see him go (and tried desperately to change his mind).
