      United States Post Office, Huntington, WV – A $4 million, 30,000 SF design/build additions to a U.S. Postal Service Processing and Distribution Facility. Work also included phased construction of 21 automated loading docks, replacement with new loading dock equipment, 60,000 SF asphalt paving, and associated works. The facility remained fully operational without interruption, including holiday peak mailing periods, and necessitated relocation of the employees’ parking lot. Responsibility included client contact, review of trade scopes, bidding, sub contract negotiations, contract award, review of construction logistic plans, coordination of construction activities with USPS facility’s operation, review of scope changes, change order negotiations , maintain budget controls with anticipated final project cost, review CPM schedules, and claims development. Responsibility also included supervision of seven project team personnel. New York Public Library for the Performing Arts – A $ 20 million, 121,000 SF renovation of the Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Skidmore Ownings and Merrill originally designed the striking travertine and exposed concrete structure. This program of renovations was the first major such effort to be carried out since the building’s construction more than thirty years prior. Responsibilities included reviewing contracts, scopes, estimates, CPM schedule, work in place, bidders’ qualifications, evaluation of bids, and trade contract closing. Also performed interfacing with Lincoln Center constituents and coordinating construction work with performance schedule to minimize noise, dust, and site safety issues. Pre-construction duties included design management, constructability studies, value engineering, bidding, bid evaluation, and contract awards for multiple projects totaling $68 million. Responsibilities during the construction phase included overseeing the execution of twenty-five plus (25+) concurrent projects, scheduling, coordination, control & field inspection, contractual correspondence, chair meetings, and response to claims and change order management. Additional duties included recruitment, hiring, training and supervision of a professional staff of twenty-two personnel as well as evaluation of progress with time-scaled diagrams and preparation of monthly reports for the Owner. Responsibilities included evaluation of construction project schedules (CPM-Network), preparation of change orders with independent cost estimates, maintenance of control logs, and preparation of time delay/scope change orders. Duties also included coordination of project execution in conformity with drawings and specifications, development and tracking of field directive clarification requests, shop drawing review for conformance with contract documents, general administration, bi-weekly meeting correspondence, punchlist completion and project closeout, and project coordination with G.C., A/E Team, and Client for timely execution of projects within budgetary constraints. Working with the Vice-President: Monthly job cost control reports were developed that incorporated commitments-to-date and projected earnings on six (6) projects valued at $70 million. Show less
