  • As the project leader for collaborations with “Dianippon Pharma” and “Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Company”, designed efficacy studies to evaluate wake-promoting and anti-cataplectic properties of novel compounds in a preclinical set-up. • Developed and established chronic intrathecal drug delivery system in a mouse model. Using this system, developed a mechanistic therapy to treat narcolepsy in murine models. • Validated target engagement of novel compounds using transgenic mouse models. • Managed a team of 2 researchers, 3 technicians, and executed multiple projects resulting in 5 publications. • Established and performed dosing and blood/tissue sampling for PK/PD studies. • Lead the team of undergraduate and graduate researchers and investigated orexinergic signalling, narcolepsy and sleep-wake.• Pursued novel non-orexin based drug targets as therapeutics for narcolepsy and hypersomnia.• Performed experiments using in-vivo electrophysiology, video-EEG/EMG, electrophysiology, pharmacology, qPCR, immunohistochemistry, radioimmunoassay, confocal microscopy, acute and chronic drug delivery in rodent models. • Independently presented or defended scientific findings in cross-functional projects/initiatives, draft protocols, SOPs, technical reports etc. Show less
