      I have been awarded Beachell-Borlaug International Fellowship for my Ph.D research on “Genome-wide Association Analysis of Blast Resistance QTLs/genes in Landraces of Rice (Oryza sativa L.) by whole genome resequencing”. I gained an extensive experience and training in genomics and bioinformatics applications at Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), NCBS, Bangalore under the guidance of Dr. Malali Gowda. In addition, I worked at Ohio State University with Prof. Guo-Liang Wang as a part my Ph.D thesis. I worked on sequencing, assembly and annotation of Plants (rice and neem genomes) and microbial genomes (Magnaporthe oryzae and Sarocladium oryzae). I have independently optimized several pipelines like genome assembly (using both illumina, Roche and PacBio data), transcriptome assembly, functional annotation, SNP calling and many more NGS analysis specific to plant and fungi. The rice, neem and Magnaporthe genomes have published in peer-reviewed journals and few more papers are in preparation.
