I was attached to multiple specialist doctors, with subspecialisations ranging from general ophthalmology, oculoplastics, paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus correction and refractive surgery. Managed to observe various refractive surgeries techniques and general ophthalmology surgeries such as I&D of styes. Furthermore, I was also attached to various nurses, optometrists and AHPs, who were integral in assisting me in understanding the provision of holistic care, from pre-operative assessments to post-operative management, bedside etiquette, history taking and financial counselling. Being part of a wider cohort study, I worked on a project to uncover the molecular, proteomic complexity underpinning the progression and recovery of Atopic dermatitis in the Singaporean pediatric cohort. I was mentored by Dr Anand Kumar Andiappan(A*STAR), alongside Dr Sandra Tan Seok Hwee(HCI). I have learnt many significant procedural skills that are essential to clinical research and took a deep dive into complex statistical analyses.
