Part-time Undergraduate Research Intern
-
Jun 2008 - Dec 2008
As a Part-time undergraduate researcher, I was involved in various projects under the Singapore-Delft Water Alliance in NUS. It was required of me to assist othersenior researchers in their research goals. I was involved in the roof-top garden project as a tool for storing and slowing down roof top runoff in order to harness the immense rainwater resource. I was also involved in the project for removal of pollutants through the use of various biosorbents. This project resulted in one journal paper (2008) and one paper successfully published in the ninth International Conference on Chemical & Process Engineering – Rome, Italy (2011). Show less

The internship at the Singapore Refining Company (SRC) required the reporting of air pollution data on a daily basis and the monitoring of the in-situ waste water treatment plant located on site. It also involved the regular laboratory testing of the water quality for BOD, COD, phenol and the other pollutants emanating from the refinery.
