Lecturer role Research, preparation and delivery of evening lectures in the subjects of Fund Accounting and Legal & Regulatory modules as part of their Certificate in Financial Services The number of students in the cohort varies upon locations - Cork would see small groups of approx 15 students delivered in University College Cork – allowing me to employ active learning strategies in the classroom. Whilst the Dublin location is Kelly Auditorium, National College of Ireland, where the group can be approximately 110 students at any given time. Examiner role Currently examiner for the Legal and Regulatory Aspects of Financial Services which is part of the Professional Certificate in International Investment Fund Services. This role involves the initial setting of exam papers in line with the learning outcomes for the course, liaising with internal quality assurance team and the external examination board. Once paper has been sat, it ismy responsibility to mark the scripts, collate the students results, providing feedback to the Institute on answering trends and variances in marks re locations. Heavily involved in the management of the Lifelong Learning Centre across both the Carlow and Wicklow Campus. In Carlow, I would be considered the Deputy Head of the department, in Wicklow the role is considered to be the Head of Campus. We deal with approx 1900 students annually across a wide range of programmes spanning business, humanities, engineering and computing science. The courses range from level 6 to level 9 on the NFQ, so we employ approximately 150 part time lecturers across all campuses. The role is to ensure that all aspects of the courses delivered run as smoothly as possible so that the student experience at ITCarlow is a positive one. Duties include, but are not limited to, employing appropiate lecturers, timetables, communications to students, curriculum update, assessments and exams, conferring ceremonies, marketing of courses, representing the Institute externally, administration of student accounts, student account receivables and working with local industry on the provision of new courses.No two days are the same - this varied role requires a repetoire of skills to be utilised such as financial, communication, mediation, public relations, administration and people management, to name but a few! Data Analyst on System conversion project – moving onto BNYM platform and operating model post takeover. Validation of system & Reporting output, Training lead responsible for training approx 70 staff on new system. Data Analyst - Multifonds Conversion project - objective being to structure a NAV production platform that would replace the hPNC accounting system. Working with internal US colleagues and Multifond consultants/ analysts - project was superceded once taken over by BNYMellon.
