      I grew up in Jakobstad. In 2009 the orchestra I first played in as a kid was professionalised for a project period of 3 years. The ensemble ran into serious leadership (and as it later turned out: financial) problems in 2010 and decided to look for a new Intendant as of 1.1.2011. Joining the team for 19 months, we created a clear strategy, developed a fantastic team with high standards, re-established financial control, increased funding with 50% and started a very appreciated concert series. It was a fantastic experience to reconnect with Jakobstad and very gratifying to be part of the development of Jakobstads Sinfonietta.

      During my tenure as General Manager of this flagship orchestra of the Finnish classical music scene we stabilized finances, had a 15% increase in funding, increased number of the core audience for the first time in 30 years, thematic artistic planning that enhanced the brand, contracted Sakari Oramo as Chief Concdutor/ Artistic Director and integrated staff in strategic planning.       In the summer of 1998 I was one of several assistants in the production department. In the spring of 1999 I was responsible for the planning of Musica Nova productions. In the summer of 1999 I was responsible for the production of the major classical music events of Helsinki Festival, among them visits by City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Freiburger Barockorchester. In the autumn of 1999 we negotiated a long term contract but while negotiating I was asked to join the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra as General Manager.
