Since 2001, Prof. Lestelius has been employed by Karlstad University, Department of Engineering and Chemical Sciences, and was appointed to Professor of Graphic Technology in 2011. Research is directed to the parts of graphic technology that is constituted by molecular interactions, i.e. the process of ink transfer and setting and the performance of graphical and functional printing. Using tools such as spectroscopy, wettability and probe microscopy along with more process and performance oriented tools (like rheology, print quality, and conductivity) in combination with modelling, the observed performance is related to structure. Prof. Lestelius teaches (formerly Director of Studies for MSC in Engineering, 2009-2015) and networks, encompassing vocational training (KTC and BGU) and industrial associations (Sweflex, TPP) and research (COST, IARIGAI, FPIRC, EFPRO and NRS).
