I've had the opportunity to work alongside Maggie in a parallel with our organization Rainier Valley Leadership Academy. She has been a fierce advocate for our anti-racist school. She has sent us recommendations on marketing and channeled resources to us to ensure our families have a voice at the table. Maggie is a communications specialist who is intent on ensuring she is an equitable storyteller and is willing to learn and receive feedback. Maggie has seamlessly led partnerships using strategic earned media, op Ed’s, and other communications that support critical advocacy for the sector. I have immensely enjoyed working with Maggie, it is easy, productive, and encouraging. We always learn a few things and she shares resources.

Peri Lynn Turnbull, APR

I have known Maggie as a peer and colleague since 2015 - first from my own similar role at the California Charter Schools Association and then when I worked at the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools – where I had the opportunity to connect with Maggie on an ongoing basis about charter school issues and opportunities both in Washington State and around the country. Maggie has the rare combination of talent as a strategist and effective implementer on a wide range of policy, political and communications initiatives. Her ability to quickly assess a situation, provide meaningful solutions and then execute on specific tactics speaks to her skills and experience and make her a sought after leader and thought partner. Maggie always contributed thoughtfully on national level calls and at events, sharing lessons learned from WA and providing feedback and ideas to her peers. But what makes Maggie such a great colleague, is her own willingness for self-introspection and growth and her desire to learn from others all the while being authentic in her relationships and commitment to making a difference in her community and state.
