  When Danish employers hire highly qualified foreign employees, one of the biggest concern they face is retention of these employees. If the supporting partner does not thrive in Denmark, it is more than likely that the international employee may leave Denmark again. A significant issue affecting this decision is whether the spouse who accompanies the employee can find a job.TaskTo assist Danish companies in retaining their foreign employees Workindenmark offers therefore a Spouse Programme. The duration of the programme is set to be 6 months and the ultimate purpose is to help international accompanying spouses to land a job in Denmark.In a small group of 2/3 persons we are responsible for writing funding applications, deciding the content of the programme, promoting the programme and expanding our network in the Region of Southern Denmark with the intention of attracting as many interested accompanying spouses as possible.The Spouse Programme consists of individual support concerning career possibilities and group sessions with job related topics. ResultsGreat Satisfaction among the Participants. Approximately 300 spouses join the programme every year and 40-60% of them succeed in finding a job in Denmark within the 6-month period. Show less
