Bio
Fanny Rothschild
I have worked with Magda Ahmed on the Western Massachusetts Darfur Coalition, a group that has provided education and information about the violence in Sudan and support to refugees in our local community. She co-founded the group with me and then took the reins as Coordinator, demonstrating her usual proactive energy with which she enthusiastically accepts responsibility and follows through with hard work, wisdom, patience, sensitivity, and humor. She is a strong administrator and spokesperson, able to balance the group’s need for continual information-gathering, outreach, networking, creation of educational materials, coordination of volunteers, publicity, event planning, and presentations. Throughout all phases of our work, she is calm, cheerful, ever with a sense of humor and resilience, and so intelligent and clear about how to write, develop, and present difficult and complex materials (computer-based and hand-created) and to organize people to work with her. Her communication skills are the most honed of anyone with whom I have worked: they are evident during the organizing phases of all our projects as well as during the many (at least hundred) presentations that she has given about Darfur and the larger political, economic, and social contexts in Sudan. She is particularly sensitive to diversity, able to bring in and include participants from all racial, ethnic, and social backgrounds. I wholeheartedly recommend Magda Ahmed and would be happy to discuss her qualities with you.

Dr. Magda Ahmad is one of the best USAID officer I had the privilege to supervise as the SR. Civilian Representative and work with. Her efforts in standing up Women Civil Society in Afghanistan was great accomplishment and helped empower Afghan women to gain recognition. She also lead set up one of the best District Support Team that gained recognition from the US Mission and military commanders in the theater. Her kind approach and dedications in no doubt was exemplary. Dr. Ahmad cared about human right and gained the respect of all civil society and everyone she touched.
