  My main duty were that of outreach and engagement were I undertook activities to ensure Volunteer Now made a significant contribution to the increase of volunteering activity particularly in Fermanagh. I endeavoured to provide an effective volunteering promotion and support services and engaged locally and regionally. I did this by implementing annual operational plans for outreach. I built and supported relationships with key local partners and networks to ensure effective facilitation between volunteers and volunteer involving organisations. I raised awareness of existing and supported the development of new volunteers opportunities. Promoted and supported volunteer training. My role included the promotion and contribution to the building of volunteering good practice. To support and increase recognition and value for volunteering and to involve and manage volunteers as appropriate to activities. To contribute to the use and development of Volunteer Now database and website and the delivery of organisational services I was a regional trainer for Keeping Adult’s Safe for Volunteer Now and deliver to voluntary, community, churches, Trusts and statutory agencies. This training has a variety of modules developed towards different roles within the organisation depending on their responsibilities whether staff, volunteer or management committee member. As a Buddy Development Officer I provided support and mentoring to organisations across the region in all aspects of developing and setting up a Transport Buddy Service including accreditation and delivery of travel training to their volunteers to assist vulnerable client groups to gain the skills and confidence to travel independently.
