Aug 2018 - Dec 2018
Gallaudet University is a bilingual university with ASL (American Sign Language) as their primary language. Apart from my fitness responsibilities I was required to pick up and use ASL everyday. At Gallaudet my general responsibilities were to observe the athletes as they practice and work out and correct their form and technique if need be. My main focus was working with the injured football athletes. Most of their workouts were circuit based. I would follow the injured athletes around to each station and adjust their exercise based on their individual injuries. I work along side the athletic trainer who helped me decipher what they could and could not do. During practice, I would take the injured athletes and have them perform a preplanned workout I would have ready for them to occupy them for an hour.
