Clinical Program Assistant

2019 - Jul 2020
In this role I was given the opportunity to work with children between the ages of 2 and 7 diagnosed with autism and/ or other mental health diagnoses in a clinical day treatment setting. I closely tracked treatment goals that matched the individual needs of each child, and attended weekly training sessions to gain field knowledge concerning a variety of treatment-based procedures. Additionally, I assisted clinical staff in activity and material preparation. As a head youth coach, I developed a team-oriented atmosphere and encouraged player self-efficacy through all team events. I communicated effectively with parents regarding schedules and team goals, and managed conflict resolution with parents and players as needed. I provided technique-based instruction for teams made up of girls between the ages of 6 and 12. Importantly, I cultivated a consistent level of high energy and positivity for all of my teams. As a summer nanny I provided care, mentoring, and support for two different families with children between the ages of 2 and 14. I created fun, interactive activities to engage the children all summer long. I also communicated clearly with parents maintaining schedules, family expectations, and rules during my periods of care.
