Working as a Peer Advisor I work alongside a professor to teach a semester long class of 25 incoming students about Mercer University and all the resources it has to offer. I am responsible for making and communicating all of the requirements of the course to the students. I am available at any time if a student needs help or feels more comfortable talking to a peer instead of a professor. I lead summer orientations as well as fall orientation. While working at Pediatric Partners over the summer I was responsible for patient intake, obtaining a medical history, preforming vitals, preforming blood work, various lab testing, and most importantly, patient care. I would see 20-30 patients a day. In this role I also worked with children with physical and mental disabilities. I learned so much in this role and I thank PPA for giving me the opportunity be apart of their team. While working at Ironwood I was responsible for training, customer service, food presentation, sanitation, stocking inventory, and customer transactions. Serving taught me valuable people skills as well. I learned patience, nonverbal communication, active listening, clarity when speaking, conflict management, and self discipline. Working at Ironwood also taught me how to manage my time, how to manage my stress, organization, and prioritization.
