Sure Studio is an artist-run collective in Meanjin/Brisbane that showcases and celebrates local and emerging artists through exhibitions, workshops, events and artist residencies. I have completed two internships at Sure Studio (a total of 200 hours). My main focus during my time here was to assist the business in producing copy across digital platforms to promote upcoming events at the studio and to increase its impact as a business. I also took the initiative to develop the Sure Studio newsletter, which is now released each month and contains interviews with local artists.

Sistergood Choir is a weekly community event that aims to create a safe, accessible, and inclusive environment for diverse people. Since founding the choir in 2017, Sistergood Choir has grown into an unstoppable force, uplifting and inspiring others as she goes. The main lesson I have learnt through facilitating these events is the magic of collaboration and the power of coming together as a community to create something new. Running the choir has been an immensely rewarding experience that has taught me many important lessons in successfully creating a space that gives others a feeling of belonging and community. My roles here included organising events/performances; hosting and liaising with guests; scheduling content across social media platforms; arranging, demonstrating, and teaching music/art techniques; and collaborating with an ever-growing team of other music demonstrators.

TourRadar is a global travel company that focuses on offering a wide range of travel experiences through over 50,000 tours worldwide. This role gave me many opportunities to advance my skills in copywriting with guidance from TourRadar's marketing team. I produced and scheduled social media posts at a time when travel was barely available, so as you can imagine, I had to get creative. I adapted to daily changes to keep people's travel dreams alive, and in doing so, I gained capabilities in writing thoughtful and engaging copy, hitting sales targets, multitasking, problem-solving, crisis management, administration, and effective time management.

Palace Cinemas showcases high-quality international & local art-house films, mainstream movies, cinema retrospectives & events. In 2014, I began working at Palace Cinemas Barracks as a Front of House staff member. In this role, I gained experience in high-quality customer service, complaint handling, hitting sales targets and up-selling, and running functions and events. In 2017, I was offered the position of Front of House Supervisor. Management soon discovered my ability to work professionally, whilst also being a good team player in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment. Not long after being promoted to supervisor, I was offered a position as Assistant Manager and I accepted. During my time as Assistant Manager, I gained a number of invaluable skills in leadership; clear and effective communication; effective time management; event management; operation of audio-visual equipment; rostering; administration; data input; liaising with stakeholders; invoicing; generating staff newsletters, and management of customer complaints.

Drinky Drawy was a weekly event where people came together at Naïm restaurant to enjoy drawing over dinner and wine(or water). The vision behind these events was to create an affordable and judgement-free environment for people to explore various drawing techniques, no matter their skill level. Drinky Drawy began as a night of still life drawing in my home around the dinner table with friends. As the night went on, I couldn't help but notice the sense of ease that drawing together brought about as different worlds collided. Soon after this event, I was approached by the owner of Naïm restaurant to run regular drawing workshops at their venue. After a year of running these events, the founders of Cork & Chroma showed enthusiasm for this concept and requested to purchase my brand. Excited for the potential that the business had to offer them, I accepted. Drinky Drawy was sold to Cork & Chroma in 2018.
