Research Assistant in Wildlife Handling • Spent 2 months in Peruvian Amazon, taking a course in field herpetology and serving as a research assistant in FPI’s long-term annual mark-recapture program, collecting a variety of samples from 2 species of wild tamarin, Saguinus imperator and Leontocebus weddelli, including urine, fecal, blood, hair, dental cast, and nail samples, for use in numerous scientific projects, and tagging the captured individuals to be able to recognize them in the field • Experienced in hands-on handling of wild primates and samples in a field research setting. Capable of working in a fast-paced, high-stress teamwork environment • Helped in preparing samples taken in field for long-term storage and shipping, for which my laboratory skills were very useful, and in compiling detailed field reports on stakeout and capture activities
