Legal Internship
-
Jun 2023 - Aug 2023
Completed a 5 week internship with Record Currency Management. I spent my time within the legal department and the sustainability department. I have been involved in fascinating projects such as Modern Slavery within companies supply chains and assisted in setting up a contract management platform to track supply contracts and NDAs. Key Responsibilities: • Provided legal support by crafting professional emails to colleagues and clients and completed admin/IT tasks, creating excel sheets to track the expiration of key legal documents and creating an online system to manage contracts. • Completed admin work. • Effective use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and excel. • Experience in drafting and reviewing and amending termination letters and amendment documents for NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements), further drafting and editing of NDAs and IMAs (Investment Management Agreement). • Reviewed and edited the Modern Slavery policy by researching the key components and comparing the current policy to other companies within the same sector, to put forward ideas of how to improve it. • Used the updated Modern Slavery policy to risk assess suppliers and decide where to conduct further due diligence. • While at RCM I completed multiple projects concurrently for the legal and sustainability department. To meet deadlines effectively I organised the projects according to complexity and priority, allowing time for consultation and feedback to ensure accuracy. • Gained insight into the role of law in businesses and the commercial focus solicitors take when dealing with clients and the interests of the company.
