The company was experiencing a period of significant change as it moved from being essentially a magazine publisher towards being a global digital media group, with a heavy emphasis on live events, website, and app, social and transactional capabilities on a global scale. The role was a fascinating experience, both in terms of heading up communication for such a major and iconic brand, and in terms of seeing from the other side how a publishing company needs to adapt and embrace new technological and social opportunities, and also how it can extend its brand into the live arena. In a PR capacity my role concentrated on: my role concentrated on: • Communicating this change to the business and consumer press • Raising the brand profile to drive corporate awareness • Driving consumers towards the websites, apps and social platforms Time Out is pushing. I also managed the marketing for Time Out Live As Head of Marketing for Time Out Live I was also responsible for promoting (in terms of both PR and marketing) Time Out Live, the live events production arm of Time Out, which produces a wide range of comedy, cabaret, film and music events across the capital. In this role I concentrated on: • All aspects of marketing, from ticket sales to advertising, • Raising the Time Out Live brand profile as a whole, • Working to sell tickets for each event. • Working closely with Time Out Live Director developing a number of sponsorship proposals for the brand, ranging from supplying drink sponsorship for events through to full-scale corporate sponsorship partnerships.
