Achieved my Gold Award - the highest award/achievement in Girl Scouts - which requires identifying an issue and creating a project that works toward a solution and has a sustainable impact on the community. To do so, a girl must research the issue, decide upon a plan, build a team, submit a proposal to Council, and then work on that proposal for a minimum of 80 hours. My project included the creation of social media filters (Instagram and Snapchat) that support various social justice causes * To-date I have learned to use Adobe Illustrator and PhotoShop, as well as ProCreate and Spark AR to design and upload the filters for use * Causes I chose to highlight include: Black Lives Matter, Voting, Native American Heritage, LGBTQIA+, Girls In Stem, Women's Rights, and Girl Scouts * As of September, 2022 there have been over 100,000 engagements with these filters worldwide Show less
