A major responsibility of my position was creating a transition plan by researching and compiling information to give families during their adoptive transitions. In addition to that, I enjoyed working with the recruiters and family support workers in their efforts to find permanent homes for children in foster care. Affinity Guidance Services is a partial hospitalization treatment center for adolescents with mental illness. As a skills trainer, it was my responsibility to carry out group therapy and team building activities as directed by the clinicians. I participated in equestrian assisted therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and various experiential therapy activities to help these teens learn relationship skills.
