Volunteer Naturalist
-
Sep 2016 - May 2019
The Newport Bay Naturalist organization sponsors a 13-week Naturalist Training Class that is held each fall. This prestigious course, taught by college professors, provides the in-depth knowledge of the natural history and ecology of the Bay to allow Naturalists to teach others about the Bay and the plants and wildlife found there. Prior life sciences education at a high school or college level is not needed, but we ask that anyone interested in this program attend the one-day Associate Orientation/Training. Enthusiasm and a desire to share that enthusiasm with an elementary school, high school, adult or family audience are far more important.
