Truly a Chief Collaborator role, leading a large, diverse, and unionized Facilities, Grounds, Custodial, Security, Safety, Utilities, Sustainability & Emergency Operations department directly engaged with all aspects of campus life across the 3,200 square mile and multi-campus footprint of the Mendocino-Lake Community College District. Directly and daily support Administrative Services in short and long-term strategic planning, contract review and negotiations, ongoing litigation, labor negotiations and budget development. As Chair of Facilities & Safety Committee, collaboratively led and developed the District’s Facilities Master Plan 2020-2025, rewrote the District’s Emergency Operations Plan and revised the facility rental program and fee schedule. Active member of various campus committees actively engaged in the participatory governance process. Successfully planned, led and executed multi-million dollars in capital projects: major remodels, new buildings, renewable energy systems, infrastructure upgrades and resiliency projects. Regular presentations to the Board of Trustees, Academic, Classified and Student Senates, local governments, community neighbors as well as other internal and external stakeholder groups.

Led all Facilities, Grounds, Custodial, Sustainability, Utilities, Safety & Emergency Operations and Planning activities on two separate boarding campuses and numerous off-campus multifamily staff residences, commercial offices and rental properties, including the management of the school’s Waste Water Treatment Plant. Guided the design and construction of multiple projects, including: major energy and water efficiency upgrades, renewable energy systems, new 8,000 sqft art building, major dormitory renovations, staff housing renovations as well as real estate acquisitions. Collaboratively wrote and completed the Ojai Valley School Upper Campus Facilities Master Plan. Led and completed significant negotiations with Casitas Water District to preserve existing and secure additional water rights. Acknowledgments include 2012 Ventura County Carbon Reduction Award and the 2011 California Waste Reduction Award. Regular presentations to students, faculty, Board of Trustees, planning commissions and local governments.
