I am currently a pneudraulics mechanic, but prior to my start at the Anniston Army Depot, I have been primarily Quality Assurance. I have held the positions of Quality Inspector, Quality Lead, Quality Supervisor, Quality Manager and Quality Director at the largest transit bus manufacturer in the United States. I am a certified internal/external auditor, which means that I have been exposed to and had to understand all aspects of the manufacturing processes and can apply that same understanding of manufacturing to any and all types of manufacturing. I have had basic lean manufacturing/six sigma training up to, but not including formalized training to begin being certified in obtaining any of the belts associated with six sigma. I am capable of completing the training to obtain the required belts up to and including the master black belt with six sigma. Contact me for a much more detailed listing of my experience. I started out in the bus building industry as an assembler and began working myself up in the company by applying myself and learning all of the systems and installs of my job assignments. I wanted to know how things worked individually as well as how the individual parts worked together. People began to come to me for information as well as direction on solving problems they may have encountered during the process of performing their tasks or issues once completed that may not have functioned or assembled correctly. I worked my way up the corporate ladder leading by example and knowing my product. I am driven to understand the product and help others understand as well. It made the product a better product and the associates were better trained which improved customer satisfaction in the process. Show less

Assembler, Fabricator, Material Handler, Robotic Weld Operator
-
Jun 1983 - Sep 1989
Worked as a press operator with a daily production rate and then transferred to robotic weld where I basically loaded parts into the fixtures and unloaded completed units as they were completed. Due to cut backs and layoffs I was transferred to the warehouse where I stocked and picked parts. I was then assigned one of 3 assembly lines as a material handler and began stocking parts at point of use on the assembly line. After another round of layoffs and cut backs I worked on the assembly line where I had to make multiple installations of multiple different components for the remaining time that I was employed. I applied to a bus manufacturer that had opened in Anniston and left Magic Chef in 1989. Show less
