  Expanded LitWorld literacy and resilience building program into Colombia. Identified, assessed capacity, and built relationships with potential LitWorld partner organizations. Led capacity building activities, including facilitating LitWorld sessions in collaboration with LitClub partners in Colombia. Facilitated follow up discussions between LitWorld staff and Colombian partners to build mentor and organizational capacity to address any challenges and to maintain and grow the new programs. Results: Developed partnerships with three local nonprofit organizations and two government agencies to implement a literacy program for vulnerable children in different regions in Colombia. Support a team of three Program Associates in the monitoring of the school-based programs. Results: - Improved grantees’ payment process and related communication by developing an on-line fiscal management system in collaboration with information and technology and finance departments. As a result, grantees are paid faster and communication problems were eliminated. In addition, the system is now being implemented in other departments within the organization. - Worked with major gifts donors to facilitate targeted giving. Created selection process to match donor’s goal to organization’s needs securing funding to support low income students’ college attendance. - Engaged corporate volunteers through school based events, scholarship applications and grantees selection processes - Designed and implemented a peer learning workshop series for staff of community based organizations who work with at-risk youth and their families. Provided comprehensive support and professional development leading to staff reported enhanced ability to manage challenges. - As part of a team, developed an evaluation process for an attendance improvement program. - As part of a team, established guidelines, monitored and evaluated an academic program to support 300 students with low academic performance in six NYC middle schools. Eighty percent of participants improved their academic performance and were promoted to high school. - Managed program goals and workflow to improve staff performance. Under the United Way Worldwide Global Resident Fellows Leadership Program, developed a Public Relations/ Engagement Strategy for the United Way International network. Show less
