Maarten was a critical factor in my recent commission with Serco and Dubai Metro. Maarten brought a natural gravitas and highly effective leadership to the organisation, never failing to hit the mark. Equally at home managing his team autonomously or in close collaboration with other departments, Maarten has a style that is refreshing and enjoyable. Well liked and respected by his staff and his peers, he has a deserved reputation for high standards and robust delivery, and I found him to be totally reliable. Maarten has excellent stakeholder management skills, handling any given situation succinctly, appropriately and transparently, ensuring he has the best interests of the network and the business at heart, but maintaining excellent ties with suppliers and clients alike. I would happily recommend Maarten to prospective employers for any senior contract, project or logistics role and I very much hope to work with him again in future.

Working with the Serco team of senior leaders we were able to identify the short, medium- and long-term strategies for each area.
