As a PhD student I am working on the project: "Linking deep and shallow geological processes in the transition from Precambrian to Palaeozoic platform in the southern Baltic Sea using new geophysical data" funded by the Polish National Science Centre grant no UMO-2017/27/B/ST10/02316. My tasks are: - processing of newly acquired marine gravity data and calculation of their transformations and derivatives, - processing of proprietary gravimetric and magnetic data purchased from Getech Group plc and calculation of their derivatives, - integration of marine gravity with (mostly satellite) regional gravity, - qualitative interpretation – compilation of a structural map based on the location and nature of gravity and magnetic anomalies, - two-dimensional forward modelling along selected seismic lines,- developing of a three-dimensional model for the top of crystalline basement using inversion of gravity and pseudo-gravity data, - testing the capability of marine versus satellite gravity to reflect the geometry of shallow tectonic structures. After getting acquainted with the profile of the company's activity, I took an active part in topics related to the implementation of current drillings. During the internship, I took part in field trips to the drilling site, but also dealt with everyday administrative and office tasks. I had the opportunity to gain comprehensive and practical technical knowledge based on the issues of drilling key sedimentary basins in Poland with a diverse geological structure.
