This included: - Communication with students and research advisors - Organisation of student information - Collection of grades The bachelor thesis research is the final project students are required to complete in order to receive their bachelor of science. There are four opportunities throughout the year (Sept, Nov, Feb and April) in which students that meet the requirements can start their 4-month bachelor thesis research project. In addition to the BTR administration, I also assisted a number of other departments with the Maastricht Science Programme such as recruitment, admissions, student affairs and tutoring. This included: - attending local schools and university fair to present the Maastricht Science Programme to prospective students - assisting in the organisation of the MSP introduction days - contributing to MSP Open Days - interviewing prospective students for admission into the programme - assisting the office of student affairs (OSA) - tutoring (Introduction to Chemistry, Introduction to Biology and Introduction to Liberal Arts and Sciences)

This included: - participating in introduction days to ensure new students are warmly welcomed into the programme - attending university open days and visiting local schools to advertise the university and student life to potential students - attending nationwide university fairs to advertise the bachelor programmes at UM and promote life in Maastricht Whilst in the position, I gained advanced communication skills, hospitality and approachability.

Maastricht Area, Netherlands As treasurer of the 2017-18 board, I was responsible for the finances of Aperture, the study association of the Maastricht Science Programme. This included: - budgeting and distribution of the Aperture funds - overseeing the accounts, maintaining detailed records of all purchases - organising invoices - ensuring the reimbursement of all committee members when required - making financial decisions regarding Aperture activities. This included: - budgeting and distribution of the Aperture funds - overseeing the accounts, maintaining detailed records of all purchases - organising invoices - ensuring the reimbursement of all committee members when required - making financial decisions regarding Aperture activities. Whilst being on the board, I helped strengthen relationships with other UM study associations, I introduced a contingency plan in the general budgeting of Aperture funds which was later used by future treasurers and redefined the role of treasurer of Aperture by writing a structured guide for future boards. As a board, we introduced new events, supported the founding of new clubs and successfully took a group of 40 students to Geneva, Switzerland to visit the Cern, the European Organization for Nuclear Research.

My BTR was titled: 'Mimicking mussel adhesion: The development of ionically crosslinked dynamic networks using bis(2-oxazoline) chemistry.'
