  Established under Semmelweis University in 1985, the founders of the Korányi Frigyes College for Advanced Studies wanted to create an institution that would not only serve as a residence for its members but also provide a framework of academic stipulations and courses aimed at contributing to their professional development. They envisioned a community of diligent and inquisitive healers who walk with open eyes to the social ills surrounding them, ready to offer their help and act when responsibility calls. For those unfamiliar with the collegiate system for advanced studies in Hungary, the resemblance to honour societies might have already shown. The main goal of the College is to be a proactive part of connecting and educating the next generation of critical thinkers in Hungarian academia.
