As COO of Painting & Vino I develop standard operation procedures and models, create employee manuals, and hire employees and contractors. I also develop, direct, and implement marketing strategies involving our website, SEO, social media, digital marketing, our blog, and other local marketing opportunities. I manage a team of 25 (and still growing) members. I design necessary graphics for web and print purposes using the Adobe Suite. I do basic website maintenance through Wordpress. I research and implement new ideas for marketing, expansion, management, and operations. I helped start, implement, and grow two sister companies to Painting & Vino that are now up and running and generating income (one being a licensing branch of P&V and one being an art supply distribution company). And I also became President of the United States last year ;) In all seriousness, I've learned the ins and outs of running a business. I started here as an artist assistant and have tried my hands in almost every other position available at this company. By working first hand in every position, I've been able to improve upon the business model and management solutions, determine what's needed for growth, and continue to learn and enhance the business each and every day. I continually educate myself through webinars, research, podcasts, and actual books in order to always continue to make my good, better, and my better, best!

At We-R-Fabrics I was able to put my college education to the test. Here I worked one on one with clients who entered the store looking for help with a range of interior design needs including something as small as recovering a pillow to choosing fabrics for a new couch. We-R-Fabrics has an extensive in-house library of fabrics available for customers to browse as well as books upon books of swatches. I was responsible for finding pricing and quotes on fabrics through vendors, learning the requirements to quote certain pieces of furniture, and working my way up to being able to help price and spec curtains and other fabric intensive design projects. I was able to shadow one of the owners on many trips to clients' houses and work with her on her own projects as well.

When I began at Flatbread Company I had zero serving experience. I was thrown in pretty quickly and asked to handle a high-volume of customers right away. The restaurant had just opened and was still under staffed, but business was booming. As stressful as this was, it forced me to learn quickly. At Flatbread, the customer always comes first. I learned valuable customer service from my managers and team members. I quickly advanced to a top full-time server and soon was invited to train behind the bar. In the short two years I was there, I learned lessons in customer service, up-selling, team work, and both front and back restaurant operations.
