Lynn's mentorship style and the knowledge she brings to the table, with the breadth of experience, has made a difference in my life. I continue to ask her to be my mentor for upcoming projects because I trust her and acknowledge the fact that she deserves the best!

Lynn completed a communications audit and plan for the Sustainability Office at City of Surrey. She was energetic and supportive throughout this process, and understood the nuances of local government and community process. She steered us to a number of excellent recommendations which we continue to follow up on, including use of social media and key messaging to the community. I'd highly recommend Lynn as a communications professional with a keen interest in, and growing knowledge of, sustainability. She had great follow up, and regularly checked in on timelines, deliverables and objectives. And at a personal level, she was so enjoyable to work with.

Building on extensive communication and advocacy consultation for Aboriginal Housing Management Association, I lead communications to establish a new, innovative role for Indigenous housing providers to partner with the government of Canada so off-reserve communities can access housing and wrap around services to thrive, grow and succeed. This requires a high degree of sensitivity, listening and proactive communications with governments and National Indigenous Organizations. AHMA hired Emdoubleyu to facilitate a forum that gathered stakeholders' views on the needs of off-reserve housing for First Nations in BC. From this dialogue, we created a submission to the federal government's National Housing Strategy that highlighted areas where constructive, immediate improvements could make a measurable step toward Reconciliation. We also created website content and developed a set of communication priorities for months to come. When UBC opened the Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS), sustainability was a nebulous concept. I was tasked with making nuanced subject matter relevant to wide audiences for the building's opening and subsequent projects. I accomplished this through a brand strategy that included an inbound marketing strategy and created touchstones stakeholders could identify with. This included developing marketing materials and website with an emphasis on user experience and supervising IT and engaging through Social Media and developing video and photo assets. The Bionenergy Research & Demonstration Facility, provided sustainability stories about alternative energy, wood construction and why an elegant shack might change the world. To launch this project and make its goals clear and compelling, I project managed the opening and wrote and implemented the communications plan. I worked with UBC counterparts across campus, academics, Operations, Development and Research & Partnership to define, write about and generated interest in the facility and its architecture and increase good will from supporters. I engaged funders, partners, government and industry stakeholders. This substantially increased UBC's profile as a leader in sustainability. Wrote USI proposals and awards submissions, including Greenglobes, APEG. The Globe Award submission (finalist) was used by UBC stakeholders to gain further funding and increase engagement. I developed materials and managed UBC's trade show presence at GLOBE'12. I developed materials framing messages on UBC's as a living laboratory on sustainability. Audited USI communications materials and visual displays and made change management recommendations. Created content/project managed suite of case studies profiling innovative sustainable building practices, policies and architecture at UBC through the use of wood with partners, Forestry Innovation Investment. After auditing the organization's communications and marketing activities, created a strategic communications plan that included re-branding and developing key messages and the tools to deliver them. This improved awareness of not only lifecycle analysis (LCA) as a critical tool but also sustainable development among architects and engineers. It also helped increase profits and establish the institute's leadership in the field. The communications strategy included creating a suite of tools (new website and trade show booth, power point template, etc.) to strengthen its presence and a social media engagement strategy.
