I worked with Lynn on a project to support healthcare professionals to up skill and gain confidence in virtual consultations. Lynn was so knowledgeable, responsive and full of practical insight which really bought the project to life. Her academic background meant that recommendations were robust and up to date. I’m looking forward to further collaboration together - she is such a joy to work with

Lynn has worked for Mesothelioma UK this last year developing and launching the charity’s first research and audit strategy. Lynn’s extensive research experience, technical ability, her skill set and genuine can do approach meant every expectation and deadline was met. In addition Lynn slotted into the Meso UK team quickly and comfortably, keeping us involved and informed at every stage. We now have a comprehensive research strategy and the infrastructure necessary to execute it. Lynn helped recruit the Meso UK team member now responsible for managing the charity’s audit and research activity and is on hand to support us as required going forward.

I was employed as an Associate Professor in Research and Innovation in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. During this time I was Principle Researcher on a number of research grants, working with colleagues on cancer and communication related research. I Chaired the Research Group within the School and sat on various strategy board groups. I was also Impact lead for the School. I was module leader on a number of cancer and chemotherapy modules, a bespoke work based project course for Macmillan and I taught advanced and basic communication skills, primarily to Spire Healthcare cancer nurses and allied healthcare professionals. I also led a two day chemotherapy conference each year for Spire staff. Show less

I started out as a Research Nurse in the Cancer and Haematology Clinical Trials Unit and managed my own case load of patients who were recruited into cancer clinical trials. I specialised mainly in Phase I clinical trials and had a specific interest/involvement in gastrointestinal cancers. I was quickly promoted to Team Leader within this Unit. Again, I managed a case load of patients, managed a team of research nurses and clinical research assistants. I worked closely with pharmaceutical companies and managed ethics applications. I then spent time as Team Leader of a very busy Chemotherapy Unit, where we really focused on expanding and developing our chemotherapy services for patients. I supported the training of new nurses, administered chemotherapy, provided a nurse led clinic and managed the chemotherapy team. I then took a demotion and returned to the Clinical Trials unit to enable me to start a PhD, which focused on communications between doctors and patients. During this time I retained some clinical experience to keep my skills up to date. Show less
